It’s’ been a long time coming, but French Kids Don’t Get Fat is going to become Sacred Appetite.
That old name helped me get started, but it lacks originality: I obviously copied it from French Women Don’t Get Fat. It limits me for that reason if for no other.
But the old name is also too narrow. I want to keep talking about more than just the French way of eating. It’s certainly not just about kids getting fat. It’s not even just about food. Children do not live by food alone.
The child as a person—physically, mentally and spiritually—is sacred. The original, natural appetite of a child for all she really needs is also sacred.
In Sacred Appetite, I want to continue to write about teaching children to take pleasure in good things, especially as applied to food, but as an image of how we can foster their appreciation of all the truly good things in life.
My aim is to continue to discover and share ways we can approach children that nourish their bodies and respect their souls.
I also hope that Wordpress will do a better job of giving me what I’m looking for in a blog platform.

Love the new name!
